Windows monitor resolution out of range12/25/2022 ![]() ![]() I really like the fancy new startup, animated and all but come on, people like me will need at least an option to use the very basic resolution when dealing with old monitors and this is all I'm asking.1. If so, can I add my own startup screen, just the way I used to have on XP? This is very crucial because an important thing like pressing F8 to enter safe mode doesn't work, since I cannot even see the menu (because even there the new resolution used can not be synchronized by my monitor). My question is: is there any way to revert the startup resolution to the same used by winXP, meaning 640x480 16 colors, so my arcade monitor can synchronize with it? I don't need all this brand new fancy animation on this new machine. This is pretty annoying because I used to have a very nice clean boot on this machine (I even replaced the startup screen with a custom one). ![]() ![]() Great! So, I needed to reboot to finish the installation and then the monitor went out of range again, during the whole startup process, only coming back to life when windows is up and it's being like this since. I switched monitors once everything was done and windows is visible perfectly on my arcade monitor. Ok, I tried an LCD monitor and it worked so I could get windows7 installed and the machine up and running. I had no problems when I installed XP in the very same machine, since my monitor handles the basic 640x480 16 colors old XP startup with no problem. So, yesterday I got a brand new copy of windows7 and tried to install it on this very same machine, different partition for dual-boot and I had a huge surprise: my monitor goes "out of range" right at the beginning of the installation, after the boot up messages, right when the resolution changes. I run my arcade games and also windows beautifully on this machine. So, I'm running windowsXP 32 on my arcade machine cabinet where I have a multi-sync Betson Imperial arcade monitor installed and it works great (CGA, EGA, VGA modes, maximum 1024x768 interlaced or 800圆00 native). ![]()
